Voltex is a highly effective waterproofing composite comprised of two high strength geotextiles and a minimum one pound of sodium bentonite per square foot. The two geotextiles are interlocked by a patented needlepunching process which encapsulates the bentonite prior to hydration.
Voltex is excellent for waterproofing below-grade horizontal and vertical surfaces, such as underslabs and property line construction - soldier pile and lagging, metal sheet piling, and concrete caisson retention walls. Voltex can be installed directly over a properly prepared soil substrate, thus eliminating the need of a working mud slab.
Voltex DS incorporates a high-strength HDPE liner bonded to the surface of the non-woven geotextile (see picture below). The HDPE liner provides superior hydrostatic head and chemical resistance, extremely low vapor permeability ratings, and enhanced protection from inclement weather prior to backfilling.
Installation of Voltex is fast and easy. Simply position into place and fasten. Voltex can be installed on green concrete, in virtually any weather, without the need for primers or adhesives. Voltex is easily cut on site to form around corners and penetrations. When concrete is poured against Voltex, a tenacious mechanical bond is created with Voltex's high-strength geotextile, yielding an average adhesion value of 15 pounds per linear inch (15 pli). The result is always a highly effective waterproofing system. Both Voltex and Voltex DS are available in 4 ft. wide by 15 ft. long rolls (1.2 x 4.57m); 30 rolls per pallet.
SWELLTITE
Swelltite is easy to install. It can be applied in most weather conditions to freshly poured concrete without a primer or adhesive. Swelltite is manufactured in a controlled thickness to assure the contractor, design professional and owner of a proper waterproofing installation. The products unique composite eliminates the use of a release paper and the tough HDPE liner eliminates the need for a protection course for most installations.
Quality and ease of installation have made Swelltite a market leader. Over 50 million square feet of Swelltite have been installed worldwide on projects such as airports, commercial buildings, transportation tunnels and military facilities.
VOLCLAY PANELS
Volclay Type 1 Panels are designed for both vertical and horizontal below-grade waterproofing applications. Applications include backfilled concrete foundation walls, property line construction and installation under floor slabs. A special version, Type 1-C Panel, features a temporary, water-resistant coating on one-side to inhibit premature hydration from inclement weather prior to backfilling or concrete placement. Once backfilled the coated panel will hydrate normally, forming a monolithic waterproofing membrane.
For installations where groundwater is contaminated or has a high level of salt concentration, specify the Panels with Volclay CR bentonite. Volclay CR is a specially treated contaminant resistant sodium bentonite that assures optimum performance in contaminated groundwater conditions.
