NEOFERMA

APPLICATIONS AND DESCRIPTIONS

The Neoferma gasket (Patent applied for) is suitable for sealing of all types of joints. It is extremely flexible, consisting of hollow sections, terminating in individual lips.

Neoferma gasket is easily compressed and maintains close contact with concrete, steel or wood surfaces. This ensures complete sealing of the joint.

The gasket can be joined in the manner shown by the use of a polyurethane or neoprane jointing compound. The two faces to be joined should both be thickly coated with bonding compound before pressing the gasket into it's final position. Do not allow the bonding agent to harden before inserting the gasket in the joint. An improved bond can be obtained by cleaning the ends of the gasket with petrol or abrading with a stiff wire brush.

When fixing Neoferma, it is important to take care not to stretch the gasket as it will eventually revert to its original length and will tend to put a strain on any joints that have been made.
If a mitre joint is required, it is advisable to leave the outer skin of the gasket intact to preserve a continuity of line. A "V" notch should be cut without passing completely through the gasket.

The gasket is started into the joint by hand and then punched to the correct depth using a hammer and a flat piece of wood as a caulking tool. It is important not to use a sharp metal edge which may puncture the gasket.
